Some off – field dramas before on – field action
T20 world cup has all the makings for a fascinating drama, but it seems it would emulate our imaginations. Yesterday Andrew Symonds was caught in a drinking saga and was asked to leave to Australia, as he couldn’t fit into scheme of things for Australia.
It does not end there, where yesterday Star news reported a tiff between Dhoni and Shewag, regarding the later been kept out of practise game. News channel reported that Shewag was left out of the practise game and he does not carry any shoulder injury, contrary, to the popular perception.
Even though there is no official confirmations regarding this but one do get the feeling that all is not well with the team, as captain interviews give a hint that he feels Shewag does not a find a favour, in present scheme of things.
He had a indirect swipe at Virender Shewag, where he said, that some things can’t be changed, as Shewag attitude to go aggressive after every ball irrespective of situation, which evinces clearly that captain favours Rohit Sharma ahead of Shewag.
Coming back to troublesome Symonds, his frolics doesn’t seem to desist, as he has defied team management instructions and was seen indulged in drinking beer , when he watching a local rugby match with his teammates and it hasn’t gone well with team management.
Core members namely Ricky Ponting, vice captain Michael Clarke along with Tim Nielsen decided that Symonds can’t continue like this and have decided to send him back home. Cricket Australia James Sutherland, who has already issued a clear cut statement, that it is the last chance for him to redeem him career, stated that this would be last straw in the live icc t20.
Things certainly dint look good for Andrew Symonds, as there are speculation, that he would desist his international career by announcing retirement before he could face any action from Cricket Australia, which would be nothing but disgusting.
Even though his team mates Nathan Bracken expressed, that it would be too early to say his career would be over, but said that they would badly miss him, as he is a proven cricketer in this format of the game and with his multi – talented skills would be very difficult for someone to replicate it.
Cameron White was announced as a replacement for Andrew Symmonds and Austrlia which had a pretty impressive preparation, by winning both their warm – up matches, would badly miss Symmonds, but how they recuperate would be witnessed in coming days.
